Investments & Retirement:
Asset Allocation

When it comes to investments and retirement there are many questions, and often times this in and of itself creates a barrier to preparing for the years when you want to kick back and reap the benefits of the seeds you have sown. Most people spend more time planning their annual vacation than they do planning for retirement. We take planning for retirement very seriously and can help answer many of your questions:

  • How and when should I save for retirement?

  • When can I realistically retire?

  • Are there accounts that can help support my income so I limit the risk of outliving my retirement?

  • What is a Roth IRA?

  • Can I combine a 401(k)with an IRA? What about a ROTH IRA? What are other options?

  • Should I convert my traditional 401(k) to a Roth before I retire?

  • How do I plan for Social Security in Retirement?

  • I am eligible for a Pension; What pension election should I take? How will this impact my Retirement Planning?

  • How do I manage tax consequences during retirement?

  • These are just a few of the many questions Legacy Partners addresses for our clients every day.  By working with one of our financial professionals who specializes in retirement, we can evaluate your current financial position and formulate a strategy designed to not only get you to retirement but more importantly, see you through it!

When we originally meet with our clients we are often reminded that the average investor looks at all of their investment accounts as one pool of assets. Our philosophy incorporates a bucket strategy for our clients to visualize that a portion of their assets may be needed in a relatively short amount of time and be invested in a way that helps minimize the potential for near-term market volatility to adversely impact their immediate spending and income needs. Also, other assets will have a longer time frame and can be invested differently with an objective of potential growth.

We believe that a solid structured financial plan incorporates some strategies to complement the uncertainty that financial markets historically bring.

Our process is to develop an investment strategy that is tailored to your needs, risk tolerance, and objectives. These recommendations will complement current positions and will be gauged on your investment experience and knowledge. We believe it is critical to introduce an investment approach that not only fits the needs of the client today but also must coordinate with future plans and aspirations. We will work with you to design an asset mix that is in accordance with your needs and offers the allocation and diversification* that is appropriate.
